ZHIZHUO TAN

 Zhizhuo Tan have been dancing since she was 9 years’ old. She extremely enjoys dancing and studied Ballroom Dance and Ballet under the direction of Li Wen and Yang Zhaorong in the Guangdong Dance School since 2009. In August 2012, she was awarded first place in the CBDF Championship of Professional Colleges Modern and Latin. Then, Zhizhuo had represented her school in numerous international competitions and received outstanding results.

In September 2014 Zhizhuo started learning contemporary dance in Beijing Dance Academy for six months. This was when her passion for contemporary dance started to grow as she discovered new ways of expressing emotions and new ways of creating movements from moving her body freely .Currently, she is studying a BFA in Dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) majoring in contemporary dance. As part of her professional practice she joined various dance productions that was choreographed by one of their great artists and teachers, Such as Christine Gouzelis.

Zhizhuo enjoys facing different challenges and is not afraid of trying out new things to reach her target of becoming a dance choreographer. In July 2015 Zhizhuo had the opportunity to choreograph a dance piece for the Korea International Modern Dance Competition where she reached the finals. After that she was also invited to participate in the Focus China showcase of Helsinki Festival to present her works at 25×25 event in August and the famous Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported her successful works and photographs. It was a meaningful and valuable experience which gave Zhizhou an opportunity to develop her skills and strived to improve her capabilities.
